Hyderabad, Telangana is set to embark on a significant milestone in its industrial sector as Taiwanese multinational electronics giant Foxconn gears up to establish its manufacturing facility in Kongara Kalan, located on the outskirts of the city. With an investment of approximately Rs 3,500 crore, this venture is expected to make a profound impact on the region.
To mark the commencement of this monumental project, IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao, along with Foxconn officials, will participate in a ground-breaking ceremony scheduled for Monday. This event will formally launch the construction activities of the state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. In support of this initiative, the state government has allocated 196 acres of land in Kongarakalan, adjacent to Ranga Reddy Collectorate, to facilitate the establishment of the facility.
A joint effort between the industries department, TS Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), and Foxconn officials, all necessary arrangements have been meticulously made for the ground-breaking ceremony. This collaboration highlights the commitment of both parties towards fostering a successful partnership.
Foxconn Chairman Young Liu, accompanied by his team, recently held discussions with Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao at Pragathi Bhavan on March 2. Subsequently, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) released a press statement revealing that Foxconn intends to set up an electronic manufacturing facility in Telangana, which is projected to generate one lakh job opportunities over the course of ten years. The press release further announced the signing of an agreement between Foxconn and the state government to solidify their mutual commitment.
In correspondence with the Chief Minister, Young Liu expressed his dedication towards establishing the manufacturing facility, as discussed during their meeting on March 2. The commitment from Foxconn signifies their determination to contribute to the growth and development of the region’s industrial landscape.
